The Kentucky Lawyers Assistance Program (KYLAP) has the following as set statement of purpose:

KYLAP is a program of the Kentucky Bar Association that offers help to members of the Kentucky legal community who are struggling with mental health issues, such as depression, alcohol and drug abuse, stress, compulsive gambling or any other condition that may adversely impact the individual’s personal or professional life.

KYLAP takes the firm position that addictive behavior and psychological problems including alcoholism, substance abuse, and compulsive gambling are treatable illnesses.  [KYLAP’s] experience has shown that the only stigma attached to these illnesses is an individual’s failure to seek help.

For more information on KYLAP lap visit www.kylap.org.  KYLAP is actively working to host the American Bar Association’s conference on lawyer assistance programs in 2016.  Gary is honored to work with the great individual lawyers in KYLAP and to help it do good to protect members of the public as well as provide needed services and assistance for members in the Kentucky legal profession.
